ok lads to some i may be ranting over old ground here but maybe to more i may not,its in regards to the cy29cc engine i am after taking out of the car.
now this engine had great power low down especially due to stuffed stroker crank and head bore size, looked cool with its billet head and chrome, but i have noticed before i removed it that material quality is apsalutely rubbish compared to zenoah,my exhaust could not be screwed back on anymore because treads were gone on engine head, could not screw gearplate on anymore either for the same reasons with the treads, had to remove clutch imagine because clutch spring broke, and believe it or not when trying to put back on the old cy clutch screws one snapped under very little pressure. anyway thats shelved now and my 26cc rebuilt zenoah G260 just gone in and ran in and i am UTTERLY SHOCKED to point out that it is far more powerfull and punchy compared to the 29cc cy!!! SHOCKED i am by this,no wonder fg comes standard even the comptition models with the zenoah 26cc as standard, and my jetpro has a lovely tight fit again. ALL GOOD!
long live the japs...... and bin the chinese s##t

teh cy29 is a piece of CRAP!

the treads stripping is mostly the macanisc fault. spesialy since you hav stripped so many treas on the same engine. use a little less force when you tighten the bolst and bnuts and that problem i s solved.

but the CY 29 is not as powerful as most of you think.
an original Zenoah 2+6cc engine puts out 3,9 HP. and the CY 29 Puts out 4,3.
the only thing that i s differen is the stuffed stroker crank ant teh 35 mm bored sylindr that give 29cc intteda og the 26 cc. nothing wath so ever is tuched in the ports of the cylinder.
the cylinder is modified so that you can take of the head. tahrt gives he possibility to change the compretion rate.
but that wount help since the porting is not touchecd. in fact since the crank is stricked 2 mm the piston moves 1 mm longer up inn the sylinder and changing tha timing on the ports. they poen later and closes earlyer than a stock 26cc engine.

and on topp of all it has about 1500-2000 rpm less on topp than at stock 26cc engine.

OK, this is my experiences with Zenoah and CY, I have installed a few BB kits one in particular a ported 28.5 on a Zneoah needs the case ground a bunch to get the ports to match up, when putting the same kit on a CY, the ports match up perfect. What's up with that?

you see what i think there clubin is that there is no such kit derrived from a zenoah 29cc piston/head anything over 26/27cc or the big bore kits that you speak of are cy heads and pistons, they can fit on zens but need some work.

what would you rather cy or zen?

i think from my experence cy are rubbish not so much internal parts(grand) but the casings and raw materials they use is s##t

i bought a new cy two months ago and allready the gear plate wont screw on(treads worn down on crank casing) and exhaust will not go back on(treads gone on cylinder head) now all i ever done was retightened them when loose, and im carefull, soft rubbish compared to zenoah.

Zen all the way. word is this spring Zen is supposed to be releasing a 36mm bore topend. so by summer we should be able to have FULL Zenoah 30.5cc motors.

only one good thing is cy29cc is very powerfull too and all zen parts outer parts anyway like casings are completly compatible with the cy...
