So I went ahead and bought a KSRC-002 today :) should be hear by saturday or so. I went with the 002 cause I really don't want a car with alloy a-arms, I happen to like the plastic stuff from my nitro days.

Anyways I planned on ripping the car down and lubing/inspecting everything.

1. Replacing their for oil with some 20w fork oil
2. getting a outerwear for the pull start
3. screening the air vents on the motor.
4. I also ordered the Full Force V2 Fuel line modification.
5. Heard their are better air filters? Or was that on older ones?

My question was am I missing any important KM or baja related pre-first run items? And in general what should I start looking for to replace or upgrade on this baja if anything? Lastly, can I use a 2.4ghz Traxxas radio and receiver on this KM?

Thanks guys!

I think buying the 002 with plastic arms is a good move, I'm with you on it being flexible and able to absorb impacts. My km has been brilliant, the only parts that let it down are the alloy bits - it's soft and bends so easily.
Might be a good idea to replace it with uprated alloy.

Yea my experience with alloy a-arms in the past has be something like this:

Why is my truck randomly wearing out bearings or drivelines? OH because my alloy part is slightly tweaked causing extra wear even though it appears to be in good shape.

Im a fan of plastic parts, they make planes and guns out of them now lol. RPM parts are my favorite probably.

I don't no about that radio but get a set of outerwears on the pull start and filter,
a decent pipe coz the clone one is $hit and a killswitch.

Should do for now

Yup, RPM arms, maybe some alloy shock towers, the stock plastic sucks! Shreadstack makes it easier to service the air filter. Killswitch definitely important as mentioned before!

Oh, new hub carriers (hpi or alloy even) and servos. My throttle servo died after 2 tanks but I had replacement hitec's on standby.

Oh, get some extra rubber, they have good power!

Yea I did get a set of tires already, hostile mx rears and a set of fronts. As far as the A-arms and servos/radio go im just kind of going to "see what happens" haha I do want to get a Futaba 3 channel at some point.

Just drive it and see how it goes and wait till you break sumthing!

good luck mate and enjoy :D

Definitely will, just as far as the radio and stuff I'm trying to be prepared for some known issues so I don't have to wait a week in the mail for it to come + I want a kill switch

I'd get that KillerBee Switch asap as the standard servos are crap, does it have the Dom type pipe, if it does i'd do the Silicon mod as i split 2 heads with a couple of bad landings..

Yea I was looking at High-tecs steering servo, are you landing on the exhaust tip and putting leverage on the head? Oh and it does have the dom style pipe.
