New Rampage MT Pro & need lower gears

In my experience, low diff gears are easier on drive gears but harder on diffs (diff case flex & these cases are plastic) while tall diff gears are easier on diff cases but harder on drive gears (gear case flex, again, plastic I believe). Not saying you will have problems. Just letting ya know what to watch for. My experience on this is atv's & trucks but it's a general thing. You can take the load off one point but it has to equalize somewhere else.

To the best of my knowledge nobody produces diff gears. It would be easier to make a set of the drive gears.

Yeah, diff gears would be nice! Got me to thinking too...planetary axles like the real ones. Tall order for a machine shop though...& more non existent gears. I did order the aluminum diff boxes, give the gears a chance. Are my MT's 6 axle dogbones & cups already upgraded to a decent level? I planned on putting a ring around the cups no matter what. Just hoping they weren't popping under normal loads.

The MT can break the cups fairly easy. The big heavy tires can reek havoc on the drivetrain. On throttle landings is the biggest culprit. A steel sleeve welded to the cups makes them almost indestructible. The dogbones are decent you might bust a pin once and awhile. Just depends on your driving style.

Nowhere on the box, model or papers with my MT does it say version #.

Nice if a blip of throttle would lighten the front end up.
The box mine came in was brown cardboard and all it said (in huge letters for all my neighbors to see) MADE IN CHINA... I'm a hick and around here we don't take kindly to foreigners or foreigner junk :D

As far as the throttle blipping wheelies, we've all been chasing that dragon! I haven't seen a 'Cat yet that can pull the wheels. You want wheelies, go with an FG.

My FG M/T pulls 20 yard wheelies like nothing. My Redcat... not even close. Although, my 'cat is a buggy.

But my Fg Marder is a buggy and it pulls the wheels once in awhile...

So what wheels are needed for these tires and its probably not a direct bolt on is it lol or is it 24 mm hex?

Sooooo, shortly after the break in procedure, I may need a handful of pins for what my friends call "abusive driving"? Cool, I'll put those on the list.

Yeah, thought that was funny on the box. No idea what version it is, but darn sure made in China! Good quality, just wish it came as a kit.

I've got a couple ideas to get the front clawing for sky. One is raising the center of gravity. When I pulled the suspension assembly off the rear I noticed the only thing keeping the arms from drooping on down was those tabs. Those'll likely get sliced off & some sort of limiting strap to keep the shocks from pulling apart / keep the dogbones at still respectable angles.

The difficulty will be in beefing the drive line for lower gearing. Should have gears cut this week.

Wheel adapters should be fairly easy. Maybe rob something from quarter scale.

Got the adrenaline pumping just thinking about the first cat caning!

Ditto RC DAD, I've been thinking about gearing mine down as well. I'd like to waterproof it to the point that I could take it outside in the mud etc... And not pray I don't suck water into the engine.

I have come up with a simple and free modification. You will achieve full use of the shocks that you have with a 1/4" left over to avoid the shocks being fully extended. Also, no dogbone or control arm binding whatsoever.
