OK, so today i was out at the dunes and the truck wasn't running right. started looking around the carb and noticed that it was a lil to wet for my liking around the carb and intake mani. so i went a lil crazy and ordered a new intake (aluminum with Teflon gaskets) a 990 walbro carb, the light weight shoe clutch , 0.040 copper exhaust gaskets, 5805mg and futaba mount. im thinking that should take care of all the cheap stuff on this cat. all that is left that i want is a belt drive. but after that im sure it will be time to get a lil more out of this motor. ive been reading on how the hy motors are a cheap version of the cy. what do you think? i like this top end kit http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.885035/it.A/id.4168/.f

im just wondering how good the stock crank is? is it worth putting this in http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.885035/it.A/id.1292/.f ? anything better out there? thanks

I have that ESP kit and it's awesome. Personally, I don't like stuffed cranks because they tend to starve the crank bearings of oil. Also, I've seen some gnarly pictures of engines that were ruined because some of that "stuffing" broke off.

I have the same kit with stuffer crank but not the ESP ported one...(a little cheaper) I have heard the same things about stuffers as Deluge, I just didn't read it until after I had bought it.

It's up to you, but the odds are you won't have an issue and you'll get higher RPM's with it stuffed.

if those [4.3hp] numbers are correct thats a pretty awsome improvement over the stock which i believe is like half of that lol

For the money should be bad a** . But I'm still thinking about the obr reed case 30.5 motor. 8.2hp sound like a lot of fun .... lol
I really want to try one also.. Incredible engine.
