New shock for may FG baja

....as mentioned in the presentation I just bought a used 4WD FG Baja ...
I disassembled everything and I am checking all part ... I would change in the first teh shocks ... You can recommend some shock resistant models without having to spend many $$$$$$!!!!!!!!

For other components advice are very welcome

I think that the shock standard are very fragile ... one of the 4 is slightly bent ...
.... so I thought to change it and take something more strong

you could try the Lauterbacher shocks they are prity tough and for the price go to http://www.lauterbacher.net/xtc/ check them out for your self i have a set and they are bang on

I agree with the red fg shocks being crap, i hated mine, the fg alloy adjustables with the oring alloy pistons are the bomb, totally transformed the handling on my old fgbaja but they are not cheap to build...$300+ at least

I havnt seen the baja shocks but I presume they are the same as other model FG's. I have had a Beetle marder and an MT for 6-7 years now and have never had a problem with the standard shocks yet! and trust me I don't baby my cars I use them as they were meant to be used.You must have really hammered it to bend a shock,do you have pictures?>

I've had one bent fg shock shaft and it came that way in a set of used shocks. I like the fg shocks myself, though I just got a set of alloys off ebay a while back and they are gorgeous with balloon springs
