So I am the proud owner of a MT V3 (when it arrives next week). I have heard that the large monster truck tires can be a strain on the CVD's so I am looking at replacing them with these....

Using these adapters....

First off...these adapters do fit on the MT V3...correct? Secondly, has anyone experienced these tires/rims first hand and if so how do they perform?

I have also got Hitec servos, Killer B Killswitch, CPI pipe, Outerwears (filter, pullstart), new fluids for diffs and shocks, 990 Walbro carb. Am I good to go?

Thanks

Yes adapters work.

Proline makes nice tires. I run the trenchers. Theyre a little taller and keep the truck look.

You will want to vent the fuel tank and upgrade the air filter. Most use the hpi filter with the angled shred stack. You will want a taller gear ratio with the tire change. Either 29-31 for gears or the belt drive which is the equivalent of a 30-30 gear set up.

Thanks RCDAD...

Do you have a part number from Daves (or link) for that angled stack?

I run the rear bow tie's on the front and sandbuster paddles on back for fun in the soft sand the bowties hook up good but I will agree that the trenchers keep the truck look at almost the same $$$

cool thanks. any performance gains with angle and hpi filter compared to stock air filter
Not really. Both are for function. The angle is for clearence and the HPI filter is great for keeping out the unwanted.

Those bowties will be decent on loose dirt and grass, not so great on pavement and packed dirt.

I love my CPI pipe, you might want to trace the bracket they give you and keep it as a template, it's thin aluminum and mine needed re-creating after a few rollovers.

Personally I also recommend an outerwears engine fan cover (goes under the engine) if you will run in grass a lot...tons a grass tends to collect there especially in the fall when a lot of it is dry / dying...

oh, and +1 on the AL intake...the stock one will go soon enough...

RCDAD, what surfaces are those trenchers good on?

.

The trenchers seem to be good on everything but sand. They even grip like crazy on the street. Maybe too much. I've rolled it on the street as they won't break loose or drift. LOL
