Evening,

I finally managed to pick up a very good condition 44t plastic spur on ebay to go with my new ally 20t pinion, cause I have read thats a good ratio so was rather pleased to sort it...BUT the spur is too small to fit onto my gear carrier.......gggggrrrr I'm guessing the spur is for an on road FG?

In the photo are my 46, 48 spurs that fit the carrier and then in the middle is the runt of the litter the 44t>

Any one want to buy a quality 44t FG spur LOL!!

no mate the alloy gear carrier is a off road one so the 44t wont fit that one you need a on road one there 52mm dia the one you have for off roaders should measure 60mm thats why the 44t gear wont fit

cheers RBar,

so am I to believe there aint no plastic FG 44t spur for off road and I would be utalising on road gear (excuse the pun)? Unless I go steel Blackbone that look like they don't use a gear holder???

ta mate

yeah you can fit to the on or off roads but the 44t will need the 52mm alloy or plastic carrier allthough the alloys the better choice and the steel blackbone gears are a direct fit to the stock layshaft no carrier needed as they fit straight on the layshaft
