Evening all!

Okay So i have a Sanwa Exces plus 2.4 Stick Radio but have been thinking about trying a "wheel" type radio.

I have never used one and have been using stick type since i was a just a wee nipper! I sure ill hate it at first but it seems all the new top radios are wheel and seems most people ,especially racers use wheel sets.

So help needed.............

What one should i get??, price isnt too much of an issue but id rather buy one which the receivers are a reasonable price as my model collection grows and the receivers are a rip off for the Sanwa EXCES! and Ill have to buy 3 additional receivers for my current fleet.

I'm not too worried about technical features but would like one that has a quality look and feel about it and preferably with a re'chargable battery as standard, oh and a nice screen!

What are the best options?

Thanks for any help!

i just got an airtronics (sanwa) mt-4 setup and i love it. it does everything i need and then some, feels great in my hands and is very adjustable (different grips, trigger offsets, tension on throttle and wheel, etc). it also has telemetry, some like it and some don't, however i find there are other reasons to buy the radio than just that. the only downside is yes, receivers are a bit expensive. however its not the end of the world, the lower end 3 channel receivers are about $50us, half the price of the ones that come with the radio. and from my quick research if you already have a couple receivers from your exzes, they will bind to an airtronics wheel radio such as the mt4, m11, and m12.

Hi Sharky!

Thanks for your post!

Id never even heard of Airtronics! Sounds perfect though especially as you say I can keep my current receivers! Ive been using Ansmann receivers as the Sanwa ones are double the price- so good to know I now have a third option!

They all look good actually , the M11 M12 and MT4!

Anyone know if its actually worth paying the extra for the M11 or M12 over the MT4?

airtronics is just the north american name for sanwa, they are the same company.

the m11 vs mt4 is a hot topic of late. the mt4 is the mid level airtronics/sanwa radio, the m11 is the old flagship top level radio. the m11 offers a few more functions over the mt4, however it wasnt a big factor for me. the m11 is being replaced by the m12 so old stock of the m11 is being sold out at cheap prices right now. the m12 is roughly $600us, its a little more than most want to spend on a radio.

i paid $250us on ebay for my mt4, and it came with a 2nd telemetry receiver (so i got 2 rx-461 receivers for that price). the seller also has some of the cheaper fhss-2 receivers for around $50us. it came out to be a pretty good deal in the end.
