One is the intake and one is the return (the return is what helps pump the gas from the tank to the carb). That's how all gas engines come. The fuel filter is usually in the tank itself as a clunk or a cotton looking filter.
I've never ran an external filter and never saw any use for one either.

Chris ,the tank on the Leo is different,it has two breathers a return and a feed. And to answer your question Grainey,I haven't got a clue why it has two breathers! As Chris said the filter is called a 'clunk' and is in the tank.

the 2 breather pipes where first used in tanks for on road touring cars

this was supposed to let the tank breath going round either a left hand or

right hand corner :clown:when your fuel was swishing from one side of the

tank to the other:2guns:a little bit of over kill i thinks

Very informative matey, defiantly overkill though. I wonder if touring car users realise the MCD tanks have a 'bridge' in the middle to take the prop, this would eliminate 'swish' in the tank if used.
Just a thought.

I don't know if I saw this or imagined it, but i thought I saw a separation fin in my FG on-road or maybe it was the MCD. Can't remember.

I'm loosing it lately..LOL
