My car was running fine up until a couple of days ago. I changed the clutch bell and bearings, drive gear and pinion gear. I know these things are not related to the fuel system however now that it is back together, it will not start??? I have spark, fuel filter is clear, fuel flow is fine but just no go??
Any suggestions would be welcome and appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Changed fuel lines today and blewn out both in-tank and in-line fuel filters. Put it all back together and it started just fine. Ran it in my garage for about 2 minutes, let it warm up, revved the S**T out of if for a bit and all seemed well. When gassing it,it was a little hesitant but thought it may just need carb adjustment when out running. Went out to drive it and it started fine once again. Ran for about one minute and then bogged and died. Tried ro re-start but no luck. It fired initially but then nothing. WTF is going on? Should i take the whole carb off and re-build/replace? Can't think of anything elseit could be??
Any suggestions?

Hi Lyle,
Hate 'niggling problems' like this - very annoying.
Quite probably as you suggest.
How's the HT side?
Just a thought - check the plug's sparking OK. Is it in good condition?
Is the HT side making good contact?
Is the gapping OK? Probably is, as it wouldn't have fired well to start, then die on you.
Al.

Sounds close to a problem i had once. Any given day it would start fine but after in got warmed up it would get to sputtering and cut off due to being a little rich on the high side and the carb choke would partially close sometimes it would close all the way! That would make it a bear to start again because then it was "flooded" I then fixed the choke issue with a rubber band "no kidding" and leaned the high side 1/16 to and 1/8 and have been running well. Hope that helps a little.

Got it all sorted out.

After considerable Fuel work, turns out i had a short in a wire that runs down from the kill switch. It had a bare spot that was grounding out on the chassis, hence the infrequent running and cutting out for no reason.
Thanks everyone for the input, I did try them.
I look on the bright side, rebuilt the carb, new fuel lines, fuel filter and gained some knowledge.
Thanks All !
