I tried it to see what it would sound like and i think it started some premature wear on the ring. so not a good thing to do.

yes this is quite right.


also with no exhaust piping and no back pressure the engine at the exhaust area will overheat badly, with burning and distortion damage occurring with piston, cylinder, rings, etc


You will definitely lose power,


even the crumbiest can-type muffler,


will do better, and keep your engine in proper 'health'.
