I was just out playing around with my MT trying to get it tuned up and Im hitting max rpm but the truck just to be going slow maybe 1/2 the speed or a little more than the XB goes it has no problem spinning out in the dirt or doing donuts in the dirt but just WOT with it just to see to go slow. Anyone know what could be the issue or is it just naturally slow?

Edit:

Forgot to mention I did change out the stock exhaust.

I've never had an xb to compare my mt to but my mt is far from slow. you do need to vent the gas tank. plenty of posts on here on that subject but I don't think that would be your problem since not venting will usually cause your engine to stall completely. really need a little more info as to what you mean by slow.

I've had a gps on mine before changing top end out to ported head. with stock motor ddm dom pipe 990 carb and desperados on split six wheels I was getting runs of 32 to 34 mph.

Sounds like it needs a pipe and then to be tuned. It takes some power to get those big tires turning!

How did you get a gps on it?

I zip tied a garmin gps to mine, and got about 36mph stock gearing XB.

You could try to lean the top end a little.

Small adjustments, and do a few high speed runs to clear it out.

I did. It sounds like the tune is off a little. When setting the H needle start at 1 1/2 out. Turn it in in small increments like 1/16 turns. Do a couple of high speed passes after each adjustment. When leaning out a carb it's a good idea to keep an eye on your spark plug color. You want to see a brown paper bag color. Black is rich. Grey is too lean. After a high speed run shut it right down. Don't let it idle.

cool I will give that a shot, how do you see the spark plug color with the cap and everything on?

You have to pull the plug every time to check. Remember you are only doing this to get it dialed in.

This is a good look'n plug.
