Couldn't start the engine. I then took out the spark plug, touched it at the edge of the plug hole, pulled the engine. I saw no spark fire.

What part(s) should I consider purchasing? Is there anything I can do hopefully narrow down the list of parts so I won't have to buy something that may be working?

Thanks in advance.

Always try a new spark plug first. It is the cheapest thing. If that doesn't work make sure the spark plug wire is good. Also check the spacing of your coil to the fly wheel. If you still don't get spark then change the coil. There is not much to these two cycle engines.

i agree. drop a new plug in, they foul out if your running too rich (which is better than too lean and burning up the topend).

check your kill switch, the Zenoah Kill switches LOVE to get stuck in killing all the spark.
if the kill switch is good, and a new plug gets you no spark, you l have to pull the flywheel cover off and check your coil gap as MadH explained.
