Quik wuestion, on the fg mt do the steering servo's go bad easy? Truck wont turn the wheels. They turn left barely an inch and wont turn right at all. They try to turn but just don't. When you turen the wheels by hand when they are turn right it makes a humming sound, nothing looks broke, nothing looks loose. Any suggestions? Also what is those things that let you know when the bettery is getting lowe, they look like a little sticker?

VoltWatch. If you have a spare channel you can plug it in there if not use a Y connector in the battery channel.

If nothing is borken or sounds broken start with the batttery. What type of charger are you using? What type of servo is it?

Its the cheap wall charger that came with the truck, and the servo is the stock one that comes stock on the fg mt.

The wires are pulling out of the battery where they plug into the truck, the wires are crazy small. The battery is warm after i charged it so i asssume it is charged enough to work the steering. The throttle and brakes work fine but it wont turn. I put the truck off the ground and it still wont turn the wheels. They try but barely turn maybe an inch at the most one way but wont turn back.I pulled the black box cover thing with all the white gears in it and they are all fine. The servo is a hitecHS645MG any ideas people?

I don't think its possible to use that servo for steering, usless you have some sort of bracket to reduce the size of the opening in the servo plate. Are you getting the info from the servo that's mounted upsidedown on the servo plate? However if you are using the 645 servo, the torque rating is only about 130 oz/in at 6 volts, not near enough torque to turn those big meats. That servo is usually meant for throttle and brake operation. Eventually the servo motor will burn out from the strain, imo.

Sorry guys that is the throttle break servo. The steering servo i took apart and had a hell of a time getting it back, don't think it's right either, now it screams when i plug the battery in. So i need a steering servo, suggestions on a cheap one that will last?

It has wicked torque but it has nylon gears and I don't think they will stand up to the abuse. They will strip eventually. Try to find somthing with metal gears. Hitec has a good metal gear servo, the 705mg should do the job. I use the hs5745mg on mine. Hope this helps.

You say you took it apart? If you did, did you make sure the big gear with the side stop was aligned in the center position pointed to the side? If it was to one side or the other the servo will not turn one way much or at all and will scream from stress of not being able to turn but straining to make it turn.

What is the servo you are using for steering?

A great replacement in the MT is the one stated above: Hitec hs5745mg.
The best price can be found here: HS5745MG

A great deal can be found on 3 at ebay for 100.00. If I had 100.00 or needed another 3 servo's this is a good deal on 3 used ones.

What is a tx? And it wasn't the trim adjuster on the transmitter i checked that.

TX is your transmitter, trim , end point adjustment and sub trim are different, trim is just a small adjustment to fine tune and has nowt to do with overall travel, end point adjustment is how far the servo will travel in each direction as defined by the sub trim adjustment which sets overall total travel. Most tx will allow 60 degrees each direction from centre point of the servo. Plug in a different servo into the steering and see how far each way it travels then you'll know if it was the servo or tx settings. (assuming your tx has all these adjustments...what you using?)

My radio is a hitec agressor, it has the trim nob for steering and throttle and it has the adjustments on top that you are talking about,it wasnt none of that,i checked. I took the gears out and i am almost sure i didnt get it back right,i'm just gonna buy a new steering servo.

Got my servo, went with the HS-5745MG BB Digital 1/4 Scale Servo Futaba JR that bigger the better found for me and suggested, thanks by the way. Any tips before i install tomorrow or late tonight?
