Hey guys since i am solo basher and rider was wondering...

what kinda runtimes do you guys usually do ?

10-20mins. stop another 10-20mins. stop and so on

or

just do the full tank...then another...and another.

... for full bore wicked out runs <15min. , I generally i break for cooling at idle but continue after a minute or so.

and bash, romp and running sessions just do the whole tank.

i am trying to get a scope of the general use time and heat build up in the motor/electronics for best long term outcome.

For me I will let it idle for about 30 sec to a minute then kill it. I bring several platform to play with, so I don't run multiple tanks in a row. I run one vehicle for awhile then switch to another. I get bored easily I guess. LOL

yeah always shut down idle cool as well. kinda stuck in the 15 min tow warm up then 15min bash run to finish the tank, when i'm on a track-like spots its definitely full bore type running for most of the tank. never had a bash buddy or anyone in the hobby, excluding the planes,

my nitro habit was fill it, run it dry 50cc at a time <10min.

gear tolerances..like heat limit threshold for ELECTRIC units i know are sensitive.

Myself, I warm up for about5 min- slowly idle the cars to the running area, then go wfo- usually about 15-30 seconds- a car will cover quite a bit of ground in this time- slow down enough to turn the steering- set the car up, then wfo agan- toss in some side hilling- about 45 degree angle- the xb goes about -little less than 1/2 hour- first time it goes lean, i idle- then hit the 3rd channel. Yea, seems like it would be rough on a crome bore over AL to do the plug check- wide open -hit the 3rd channel- much more so in cold weather- i go by sound% response- same story with the chain saws- yea, cut up about 1/2 cord today- Florida red oak-white oak- monster pallets the compressors for a fast food joint- right outta clearwater florida- lead said- go for it- yeaa!! about 17 degrees now-- shed feels good just like i knew it would-- I have a Tb2- its the exxon valdaz of the buggy world- holds quite the volume of gas mix-- just saying. dog tired now- 5:30 comes quickly- time to hit the hay.

yeah 25 minutes a tank it seems. longer in total if i'm in a cruise tow. i know when its humid 100% @ 98 deg F after 15min+ the head is swollen! esp. with the stock carb/pipe you could tell it just want take the throttle and when it did no real power there just kinda suffocating.

servo heat (steer) may be an issue. 4 tanks in a row maybe punishing the steer esp. if full bore race like ripping.

besides a break to cool, any intel on cooling fans/vent efficacy or u just gotta stop and cool down?

Keep in mind the two strokes get cooling benefits from unspent fuel. So stay a tad on the rich side. It helps.

NHRA dragsters cant run more than 30 seconds until their engines are toast. Nitro or petrol if you can run it consistently for longer than 5 minutes im positive you can restart the engine just as soon as you refill the tank.

i am on the rich side . the servo heat build up seems a limiting factor ...the mill seems fine even after solid 25 minute rip sessions back to back ....never had a problem restarting after idle cool and few minutes to fuel, fish out the moss and weeds and its ready to rock !

A four tank(almost 2 liters) back to back run would be a brutal workout for any 4x4 1/5scale steer servo. 100 minutes of loaded steer action with out cooled down time in between tanks. is that excessive ?

The bearings on a top fuel are AL. One guy built a dyno that could hold these puppys- used the muffler from a locomotive- forgot to take into account about all the unburned fuel. The muffler kinda-sorta became a bomb. blew the side of the building out. 5,000 + horsepower. I have heard 10,000 - but that sounds impossible to me----- could be wrong though.
