Have any of you had this problem out of the box. This a factory f---up . On my second tank through this truck I noticed front diff was leaking took it of the chassis, and this is what i found. They didnt get the center lined up and just tightened it down.I looked in the box (didnt notice it when i got it)but there is oil in the box.

and there is no oil in the diff, this sucks:mad:

im not exactly happy with the quality of the out of the box rampage either.this is my first redcat. i have had to do quite a bit of parts changing and bolt tightening. but that is plain poor craftsmanship. send it back and they will send you the new parts, its just the wait that sucks. mines been on the work bench for three weeks waiting on parts. starting to miss my baja now that we have some good weather. hopefully once the bugs are worked out i will get to enjoy my $1500 (and climbing)investment

I know things are gonna have to be upgraded ,fixed and tightened. But this is a tank and a half through this ,i spend more time waiting on parts than driving it. And before i get an earfull , i love this thing, its a beast.Nothing in this world is perfect i know that, but im a little dissappointed. thats my right.

i hear ya my steering servos broke in the first 5 mins. 110 bucks and a week later and i got to run mine for ten mins and the bolts fell out of the steering knuckles. now im waiting on new ones(knuckles not bolts) from rampagehopups cause redcat doesn't have any in stock. i AM NOT talkin crap about redcat either. i love my mt but it could have a little better reliability out of the box. if it lasted a thru a few gallons before it fell apart i would be happier but im up to my eyeballs in it now so i have to keep going with it i guess

I hear ya,the bad thing is ,every time my wife wants to see it run im working on it. Can't take the eyes anymore lol:rolleyes:

They use the same diff cases, unless I remember wrong. Just looks like it wasnt doubled checked upon assembly. That wouldnt affect performance, its just there to help line up the diff case on the chassis.

The diff cases should just have grease on the crown and ring gears. My diffs had planty of silicone fluid in them, granted it was way to thick for my tastes though :)

Thats what I was thinking. The diff fluid is in the differential and the case holds the diff. Take it apart and see if the diff is leaking. It shouldnt be just because the case seam is slighlty apart. You never now though........

The diff that has oil in it is actually deeper in that case you have. The diff is the round part that has teh ourdrivees on it. The shell case does not hold oil since it does not have any gaskets.

My f/r cases have Sychromesh fluid in them now, I added it and sealed them with black rtv when I did the pre-run diff cup treatment. So far so good!

Hell take it apart and clean them real good and JB weld the crack......cant hurt to try.

Really ?Ok my truck has been apart a couple weeks now, i ordered a butt load of new parts ,bearings ,pin retainers a lot of aluminum ,just alot of parts. I took this diff apart to put the new bearings in and reseal it and this is what i found. both pins broke in three pieces and ring gear bolts loose, and housing broke. Since you have to take it apart when you get it ,why don't they sell it as a kit and let you put it together .Still have not run two complete tanks through it. Again let me say i am not knocking redcat, i love this truck and i know things break, ive been a mechanic for 23 years ,but i think the quality control during assembly is crap. Just my opinion.

Some people do take it apart and put it back together the way they want, with loctite and gear shims, etc. Other guys run it for months without breaking a thing.
