TLR 22/SCTE body, hence the 2 different sets of mounting holes. This is my race paint scheme for 1/10 2wd, 4wd short course, and 2wd buggy. I used Spectra-tex opaques Blk. Wht. Fluo. orange and yellow, and then gray transluscent in the "carbon fiber". Very frustrating masking performance, Neither painters tape or liquid mask worked well for me. The airbrush worked OK, had paint viscosity issues (typical noob), but managed to lay it down w/o huge blunders. I have done probably 40-50 shells with rattle cans, but this is my first airbrush body:

Lessons learned, surface prep. and masking edges are suspect when your air pressure is slightly too high. It actually lifts the masking edge if you are spraying too high a PSI, or too close.....a lot of good work, scrapped by 3-4 tiny mistakes, oh well maybe next time, I keep telling myself.

That looks great to me. I have no clue how to paint shells, so I got a lot of respect for those who can. If I could paint a shell like that I would be real proud of myself.

Looks good!!!!! it will get better the more you do it. If you mask your edges with liquid mask it will not lift with the air pressure and paint will not get up under. Yes surface prep is very important I have found that so far the Spaz Stix surface prep works the best.

Looks good !

If this is your first air brush job, you did one Very nice job.
I can assure you they will only get even better from here.

More tricks learned = more custom stuff. ;)

I sense a theme to your coloring choice. I think it's a great job.
With every shell comes more experience, and I have WAY more success with airbrushes than I do with rattle cans. Your past experience shows, and you'll only get more creative as you use the airbrush and get used to it.

I use the same color scheme so other racers know it's me in every class, you'd be surprised how many positions it gains you when gentleman's agreement kicks in. If I'm way off on setup, I let faster guys go rather than scrap it out. They often do the same, and it's easy to tell when there all painted the same scheme. I also needed visibility as it is outdoors under the lights.....Nice to have white and orange at each end, just so you can tell which way you're pointed when getting hacked in traffic!
