Okay I got my MT back together after lean-seizing it and performed the first twenty minute break-in tonight. Will do the second tomorrow.

I installed:

1. OBR ProStock 5.5hp Long Block (head and crankcase)

2. Lightened flywheel

3. Inclined ShredStack

4. HPI Air Filter

5. Turtle Racing Pull Start

6. OuterWears Pull Start and Crankcase covers

I had already installed:

1. DDM Dominator Chrome Side Mount Pipe

2. OuterWears Air Filter Cover

3. Fuel Tank Vent Mod

I was so afraid it wouldn't start or run. So glad it did.

Let us know how that 5.5 performs when its broke in. I was looking at those but wasnt sure what HP to get. There is alot of choices.

I have been wanting to try a rcmk 30.5 in a mt. It hauls in my losi but wanted to see it with the big tires

Okay so I tried to start it today for the second break in period and I can't get it to start.

I checked the plug and it is getting spark. Even tried a new plug. I removed the plastic shroud and the coil is fine. It is not dragging or anything. I have pulled the plug out and it doesn't seem flooded. Tried starting with a bunch of primer pulls and with not priming at all. Tried it with choke on and off. It just is not turning over. It started yesterday after about five pulls and that was the first time after installing the new head and crank case.

I really don't know what else to try.

if you are pushing the primer bulb- its not really a primer like whats on a lawn mower- the walbro just purges out the air and fills the carb with gas-- anyways--- if the bulb does not fill up about 3/4 full with gas, something in the carb is stuck- a flapper gasket on the bottom of the carb most likley.- no start? it could very well be either dry of gas- or the engine is loaded up to the max with unburned fuel. i say this agan to all out there, in a correctly operating wt series walbro carb, pushing the air purge- primer bulb adds not 1 single drop of gas to the engine. if it does, there is a valve sticking or leaking down. just saying---

if it will not light off either with the choke on or off and it has spark- good spark plug, its flooded to the max. that is, if the spark plug looks all wet. pull the plug, open the throttle wide open, pull the stareter cord a bunch of times, let it set overnight- this will let the excess gas in the bottom of the engine dry out- then try to start it.

Do you really have to let it dry out over night? I've never heard of this. I'm not as knowledgeable about 2 strokes as much as 4 strokes but I find that unlikely. Should be ready to try again in less than 5 minutes.

Now way, it takes some time.

If you pull the plug, then turn it upside down and give it a bunch of pulls you can clear out most of the liquid fuel. Then leave the plug out for about 15-20 min. and your golden.

if its loaded up really bad - it could take some time to evaporate- much so in a cold place. in hotter weather, much less time would be required. i honestly do not know if this is even the problem, its just another thing to check out.

it does help to have some sort of starting stand, just enough to get the tires off the ground- after a suspected flooding situation, when you try to start, use no choke, hold the throttle wide open as you pull the starter cord, its good to be able to sorta brace the car with your knee as you pull- these new engines have lots of compression- even more so when there flooded.

yup agree reset the fuel needles. these pumped up engines - i have a xb- and another slightly more porkish car- on a cold motor i can actually pick up both cars by the starter cord. after they have been ran- not so. i never start a cold pumped up engine unless its on the stand- they only have the tires about 2-3 inches off the ground- brace the car with my knee- give it some gas with the transmitters throttle- pull the starter.the second it lights off- let it idle. a stand is good for me.

Try heating the plug with a torch or lighter...
yup, have did that on more than one ocassion with the lawn mower!! whats weird though, once i kicked the ethanol blended habit, the mower sat in the shed all winter- no sta-bil- just had a lil marvel mystery in the tank from last fall- pushed the bulb 4 times- started 1st pull. trouble is- gas has sktrocketed here in the peoples republic of Oregon- non ethanol is getting close to 5 bucks per gallon- summer driving season- cripe, i sorta feel like Pavlovs dog- trained to slobber when the gas price drops a nickel or two!!
