I would have to say no.the 8.2 hp is 4 times the power of a stock engine.like anything more power means more beefing up on drivetrain.i believe FLM has the upgrades to make it work.you can always install the engine and see what happens but i don't think the stock stuff will last to long unless you baby it but we all know thats no fun..lol... Good luck...

Can the drive line in an XT hold up to this engine? Is there any upgrades; dog bones, diff gears so on?
I run the 7.5hp 27.2 FMLR in my XB. It does fine. You have to have throttle controle. No throttle or brakes on landings is a big one. The larger XT tires will make it worse.

Many break driveline parts running completely stock. All depends on driving style.

Also keep in mind you most likely will be running less than the rated hp. Unless you run the pipe they dyno tested, with you will be less. The pipe does sooo much of the magic.

Still a great motor though!

I'm running a jetpro rearmount, walbro 990, aluminum intake. I was also considering the monsterman by obr. Anyone know what the torque is? In another direction, would there be a dramatic differance with gizmos top of the line motor from stock?

Just looked over flm. They sell the cups and shafts. Is there anyone who sells diff gears? Any input on the power of the rcmk? I don't want to start an argument about who the better builder is. However I do feel the its worth the extra money for the billet bottom on the obr.

I have motors from both builders. They are very comparable. The billet reed case is very nice.

The front cups and shafts seem to take the most abuse, I run a 7.5 hp motor and have never broken diff gears but like rcdad said its all in throttle control!

I'm looking at the gizmotors 7.5/4lbs torque. Would everyone agree those numbers are for real? It says they "rate" the engine at those numbers. Obr has a printed dyno sheet next to the photos of the 8.2 reedcase. And the rcmk is $375 delivered. OBr is $599.00 w-o delivery. However the billet bottom end is probably expensive. At gizmotors numbers his motor puts out more torque than obr 8.2? Humm?????

I got a gizmo motor and he has a dyno he does put the engines to the test.I also ask them about their numbers and they told me they are what they are.I Personally like their work and delt with them on many different occasions and always had top notch service.Never delt with obr but i here the same about them great products and service.so its choice and price thats the deciding factor.also i live on the east coast and stuff ships fast and cheap from gizmo...

In on the east coast as well. I did some reading about piston port vs reed case. To sum it up because they use more of the cylinder wall on a pp engine a builder can only get so much out of it. The read further claims that reed case engines have a smoother air pull so a larger carb can be used. Bottom line Im doing a complete rebuild and I'm on a budget. If I buy the rcmk, I can get the new 4ch spektrum, and some 7075 parts. I've watched several videos with gizmos full mod 30.5 In losi 5t and they pull well. I think XTs are lighter so should go pretty good. Ill probably end up with 3-4k in the truck, but lots of people run hpi and losi. There's a sense of pride in building a fast-durable-good looking- gas guzzling machine with my own two hands. Im buying my radio at my LHS, and ordering the rest. I know this is about engines but the reason for the 4ch isn't just for lights, it has double the range of the 3ch and one of the highest in the surface class. Thanks for all the input. Ill get some photos of the goodies up as soon as they come in.

I run the rcmk in my losi. It's a great mill Imo, lots of torque and able to pull higher gears with ease. I don't think you can go wrong with them best bang for your buck.

I've been running a jetpro rear mount on my stock engine. Is there a better way to go? I'm looking for torque.
What vehicle?

The rear mount pipes are usually end bleed. They usually do more on the top end. The mid bleed pipes usually improve the low end torque more. Both however will improve the entire power curve over the stock exhaust. Are you running a higher rpm clutch spring?
