I was curious what octane rating everyone is running im confused. I hear run low octane because its a low compression motor i hear run coleman camping fuel  . Then to top it off im on daves motors site looking around and his technical page says run 91 octane or higher btw im running 89 octane and klotz oil a little help here TY

I run 100LL avgas with Amsoil Sabre at 50:1 . I like the smell of avgas not offensive like the pump gas when car is in my shop,

I feel like it only helps with more consitant tuning and easy start. Not much performance gain.

What is that 100LL airplane fuel where do i get that have you heard of coleman fuel in these vehicles

with my 28.5 head kit it says to run 91 octane or better. I just run premium from bp or shell with amsoil. any quality synthetic 2 stroke oil will do. the ratio differs on who you ask, I run 40.1, some run 32.1 or 25.1.

3, 4 and 5oz respectively per gallon, I run my 28.5 on Sunoco Ultra 93 and Castrol 2S @ 25.1 (cause I like the smell of 2-stroke in the morning) for this first couple of gallons.....next fillup will be 4oz or 32:1.

People run coleman fuel for safety in the house and in garage where there might be a gas water heater. I rather not run that stuff

100LL is airplane fuel you can buy it at a small airport most will sell you some if you bring your own can.

i run 93 octane with castor927 race blend. i also just brewed a batch of 40:1. i have run camp fuel wich is about 55 octane and didnt reall notice any diffrence. maybe a little better punch but not much

I am running premium 91 octane only because that is the only fuel we can buy that doesn't have any ethanol in it. More importantly Ethanol is what you want to avoid, ethanol + oil + 2 stroke = not good! I know I'v tried, and I have picture's to prove it.

Good point that is another reason I run 100LL avgas there is absolutley no fear of ethonal

it doesn't really do much, we don't have the high compression ratio's that require higher octanes. but it smell cool, and "wouldnt" want to run race fuel anyway

i run 110 race fuel i get in 5 gallon tins from the local dirtbike shop it has a blue tint like avgas and it doesn't stink like pump gas it may be me wishing but i think it helps performance i run super m oil at 32 to 1

ive been running campfuel for the last 2 years on all my gassers baja's fg's boats and now the rampage.... no bad smell and performs the same maybe better than pump gas... burns clean... my main reason to use coleman is because i store my toys indoors... absolutely no smell etc... keeps wife happy :) its worth the xtra cost because that alone

I tried running it, and could not get it to fire when it was just a little cool. If it is always ot where you are you can get away with coleman fuel, but where I am it will not work.

hahaha err hot? or even warm lol.... i drove through whole winter and yet to seen a weather above 0 celsius that ive been driving in past several months.... i still got like 5ft of snow here and just starting to see the spring lol... ive been driving them in -35C without any issues fires upp usually in 2-3 pulls... but i do store my vehicles indoors...

Mine are in a heated shop too, but I could not get my FG to fire with that in there, it is very appealing to me to run it too, but I just could not get it to fire. I will have to try again.

do you fire up with no throttle aplyed? only difference is that camp fuel idles lower... so make sure you turn idle up a touch... should solve the problem... it idles lower even on warm day ... you will notice if you run a tank of either one and switch the idle will change.... but it idles nice and runs perfect... just a touch lower rpm on idle... currls like a cat haha

I to have had good luck with Coleman fuel. It didn't want to shut off yesterday though. I had to hold the kill switch in and choke it to get the engine stopped.

Both the Picco and the regular kill switch were working because it changed the engine...it sounded different and was close to stopping.
