Folks

Is there any substitute for the Hydro brake oil ? Could I use the Brake oil used in full size cars or that would be too thin ?

Magnura brakes say to use mineral oil....

just have to be careful with the seals, and not mix fluids that are not compatable...do a search also as it has been discussed.

don't mix min oil or dot3 with dot 5 or you'll end up with something akin to thick snot.

kpd recommend dot 5 silicon oil which is inert so doesn't eat seals or paint.
Dot 3 will eat paint and also degrades aluminum
mineral oil apparently eats seals in time

take your pick! as they all work

I've had brake lines split before and oil up half the chassis and parts so i prefer the inert dot 5 but it is the most expensive, 1/2 litre is about $15 from napa.(a spillage of dot3 will strip paint etc not good )
