Oil question

I just got a 5B SS and I'm mixing up some fuel. Now the manual says 5.4oz of oil to a gallon. Is that just for a certain kind of oil. The oil I have is for 50:1 and that is 3.2oz. So 25:1 would be 1.6oz to a gallon. Am I right or am I looking at this wrong. Need some help.

WOW... Sorry it's 2am, dumb question. 25:1 is more oil.

No worries.
A lot of us use the mixing bottles you can find very cheaply on Ebay.
Simply pour in 1 litre of petrol and add the oil as indicated - it has fill lines for 25:1, 32:1, 40:1, etc.

you need to get hold of one of these and use 25.1 mix

fwiw, 25:1 is the recommended ratio from HPI, Cy and Zenoah. keep in mind these ratios were set up a number of years back with Dino oil (or 100% castor ect..)
now adays much of the high end synth oils work fine at their suggested recommendations. Ive ran 40:1 without a problem at all. though thats as Lean as i would make the gas/oil ratio myself. regardless of oil
