I need your help guys. I am buying my first scale buggy/truck within a week and can't make up my mind for the life of me. Personally I am leaning toward the buggy over the truck. My budget is about $800. I am torn between the baja 3.0 from heat hobby and the nylon 2.0, aluminum 2.0, or the rev 2.0 from Dan? I don't know what to get.

I don't really care for the exhaust on the heat hobby 3.0, not sure of the white nylon plastic quality of the nylon 2.0, not sure of the interchangeability of hpi parts with aluminum 2.0, and not sure about the reliability of the 2speed rev?

I just need to make up my mind. If I go with the white nylon 2.0 I will have some change left to do a few upgrades.

Please give me your input. I would like to hear from you guys that run these to better make a decision:)

Thanks dudes and fellow storm troopers lol :D

A clone will not give you any more problem then an original HPI you will just need to check it over good and locktite everything like you would any RTR I don't care what brand it is. You can get a lemon on any brand. Dans king motors has more upgraded parts on there cars then heat hobby does so dans is a better deal. Now which one you get of course will be up to you but ask yourself what are you going to do with it bash or race. I personal don't like all the aluminium on my arms rear or front upper or lower because when they bend its more money to replace plastic is much better in these spots especially when you race. The nylon is stronger then the plastic parts which will make for a stronger car plus you can dye the nylon to have your own customized colors. So of course the final say is up to you get what you like and will enjoy and have fun.

id go for the buggy mate cause the trucks look nice when new but a couple rolls and crashes the bodys look fu,,ed and are not cheap to repace, you can swap over at any time after easy if you wanted to,,i started with a fg marder but changed it to a beetle at a later date

Thanks renbar! I am going with the nylon 2.0 from dan. I am going to purchase the aluminum front shock brace (top) and aluminum rear shock brace (top) to start with. It seems like that's a weak link where the top of the shock mounts to the chassis. If you have a hard enough hit it looks like the force from a hard landing would transfer through the shocks to that point. Thanks for all the input and suggestions.

do your self a big favour mate get a killswitch before worring about stuff that can wait,,don't rely on just the failsafe,,its the best mod you can get,if you have a runaway you can lose everything in one foul swoop and its possible to really hurt somebody with one of these things
