Well hello again guys, it's been a while since I've been on here, almost three years! Last post I remember moo and sprint were making hardened drive cups! Well here's the deal I decided to pull the mt out of storage and it's in a bad way. Chassis is bent, front left suspension is wiped out, 6mm front shock shafts broken. And some other things. It had it rough before it was put away. My question is this thing is a version 1. I see now they have a version 3! Should I just buy the new truck? Or fix mine? Also what is the xt version? Thanks for the help guys.

well best thing to do would be to price out the parts assuming u can even find the v1 parts ne more.....i know the newest mts come with a 30cc and have different stronger diffcases and metal gears stock.....the servos on them still suck stock so that hasnt changed lol......as for the xt its part of the new x line which are smaller and lighter than the mt/tt series....ive heard that there great trucks but have a few problems with a couple parts on them that i believe 7075 rc makes replacements for(hes a forum sponsor)

Send me your old truck if you decide to part with it, I will pay you of course!

Im sure it could be fixed perhaps though!

Well I found all the parts I need through eBay for about 150 shipped to get this thing tip top shape again. My big question more or less is should I pay an extra 300-400 dollars for a whole new version 3? Or go with an xt. Which sounds like an mt on a diet which would be a good thing! Anyone here have an xt? What are the main differences? I see the same motor and layout.

IMO stay with the MT. I have a MT & an XB which is the same platform as the XT. If your MT is in that kind of shape do to serious bashing, you will distroy an XT. The X-series platform is quicker but has some week points. Chassis flex, week diff cases, poor tire foam, and undersized bearings just to name a few. Don't get me wrong I love the platform and most of the problems are fixable with hop-ups. You will spend as much or more on hop-ups as you will in parts to fix your MT. Hope this helps.

1+ on what was said I have the MT and XT stick with the MT way better truck and to have damaged your MT with the damaged you described if that was an XT there would be no coming back the XT would just be dead LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I would buy a new one an just keep the old one for parts. Plus the new ones come with a crap carb and the old v1 had a walbro so you can swap that straight away. Plus salvage any other updates that might be good on the v1. Just MO.

Well ever since I saw one I would really like the SC version redcat truck, I had thought about converting mine before it went into storage but it never made it. So your saying that it would be better to just buy one of those XT models? I see there are some differences but all in all it looks like the same truck to me but let me know if I'm wrong.

The XT is a different platform than the MT. The motor is the only thing they have in common. If you like the SC look. This would fit the MT

Wow, really? So I should stick with my MT and buy the new V3 chassis and diff cases and new tires/wheels and convert it to an SC truck that way? Just so you guys know here are the good things about my truck because it is not stock.

27.4 ONB ported engine

Rhino Digi4 servo

Ace 1015 TH/BK servo

4000mah Lipo batt

all Spek telemetry DX3R

Metal Gears

The truck is not stock at all, but not far off because I do not like most of the aluminum stuff since something stiff usually breaks and I have had good luck with boiling the stock plastic bits.

Yes that will be the best way to the sc world I am going to buy me another Mt and pit this body on it and change the tires to some sc tires to cool.Gold

well guys this is going to sound like a bunch of noob questions then, Have we found a fix for the diff cups? Are the CVD's finally any good? What tires and wheels do you recommend for an SC conversion? Should I order a version 3 chassis and diffs? Also any other updates I should be aware of? Thank you all for all the help again! I can't say enough about how good this forum has always been!

The diff cups are now made of a stronger material, but a few members have managed to break a few. The CVD's seem like they hold up fine, with the exception of a few broken pins here and there.

I still think that if you can get a v3 MT that would be the go and swap over the good stuff and you should be sweet. The v3 have dual servo steering too . Obviously to get the Sc look it's wheels body and maybe gears to suit the smaller wheels. You can always do that later anyway after the MT body gets damaged.
