Yeah, Lewis 2 points in the lead with how many races left, 25 points a win ....... ?

MSC?
I'd like to think that, but every time he raises his 'public awareness profile', ie becomes human, he does something like running into DC, running Rubens into the wall, stopping just before the start/finish in Monaco to stop Alonso getting a pole .... need I continue.
Yeah, I know Lewis was a tad wayward last year ...
Loved the interview with MSC, with 'Michael, that's 7 starts and 7 lots of bad luck, don't you think you're owed some good luck?' .... how do you answer that? UUUHHHHHHHH !!!

Good race!

hes a different breed of driver yes made plenty of bad moves but look back to senna v prost if he could win a title by knocking prost of the track on the first corner he would some of the things senna did in his time with us wasnt very sporting but hes still regarded as the best that ever raced and thats what missing from f1 its to safe and held back bring back mega 1500hp turbos and real gear sticks then thats f1 bring back the turbo era

This is like discussing Religion, Politics or Footy!!

I remember Senna needing to stay on the track, ahead of 'Red 5', but going off into the Kitty Litter, knowing Nige was perhaps 3-4 seconds behind. When you see the replay, still going forwards Ayrton was in reverse, and DID blast back out, and across the track, but missed Nige - there was only one intention, knowing his car was stuffed and that was to ensure Nige didn't win!!

Jenson couldn't 'switch on' his tyres. I'm sick of these tyres. The guys get perhaps 1-2 laps' warning that they're 'going off' and then they fall off a wall - lap times are not 0.5" slower, but 3-6" slower!!

My biggest gripe is the demise of the unlimited 3.0 V10's
Why is it, whenever there's an F1 being displayed, the teams always pull out one of these - remember the Honda IN RACE TRIM (not qualifying) was hitting 20k in Malaysia and dynoing up to 1000bhp in race spec!!
They're relying on aero and grip - higher cornering speeds to make up the deficit in speed cf the 3.0 V10 days - sound's more naff than it was as well!!

I remember when Bridgestone joined Michelin (or vice versa I forget), thus 'tyre wars' started, and lap times tumbled. So much so that 'new all-time lap records' were being established as soon as the 3rd or 4th lap!!
Bearing in mind this was with refuelling still permitted, so strategies were different to now.
All cars now are 'under-fuelled' hoping/expecting a safety car session where they will save fuel. Fuelling enough for no eventualities, thus full-bore all race is considered over-weight!
Considering all expect Canada to have some serious accidents, which never really transpired, funny how Lewis was able to blast at full power to the line!!

Maybe michael schumacher should apply for his job back as the stig!

its racing there shouldnt be tyres that last 5-10 laps and i want refueling back,,a race car being held back incase it runs dry is not racing you don't fill you fg half up with petrol cause it makes it quicker do you no fill it up hammer it then refill when near empty you don't go out bashing for the day with 20 mins worth of fuel and expect it to run for 30 mins

a race car should eat tyres and petrol like a kid eats sweets flatout all the way, drivers should make the rules not the no marks that haven't got a clue

Well said mate!

I do agree.
I bet at least half of the F1 paddock - certainly Lewis!! - agree there, 'though it's one more thing for McLaren to stuff up, and Red Bull to get spot on!
They still refuel IndyCars and NASCAR don't they, different fuel or not? !!

I don't see where the economy has been made in the racing.
They talk about limiting engines to limit required budget, and then spend umpteen millions on aero packages, EVERY RACE!!
Bring back the powerhouse engines, refuelling and decent tyres!!

Lap Records are going to sit there till we all are eating worms at this rate!!

In a couple of years, they're going to bring out these crappy 1.5 litre V6 engines, limited to 15k (??)
OK, they're turboed, but part of the F1 spectacle is the engine noise!!

Love the racing, hate the fact they're getting slower and slower - apart from around corners, and braking of course.

its meant to be the pinacle of all motorsport the top the best of the best but its getting more like pilots instead of drivers

take the gadgets away give them a gear stick a over powered engine big fat rears and rebrand the whole thing f1 unpluged no bull just racing a to b flat out sliding out of corners sparks and flames from the pipes it can still be safe

it should also be you enter the car for the season thats it no upgrades every other race bring what youve built and if its not good enough so be it,,as for 1.5 litre engines thats not a big deal the old skool bmw 1.4 4 pot was mental putting out well over 1500hp in quailfying spec thats what f1 needs and boost buttons

I used to be a big fan and watched every Q and race but F1 is too sterile now IMO. Racing in any other form, even at amateur level, is dangerous but F1 has pretty much eliminated it from the sport. Even overtaking has been made safe with DRS & kers. An element of danger = excitement for both racers and spectators but this is being totally eradicated from the sport. When was the last race that was honestly exciting from start to finish like it was in the good old days which werent that long ago. Even the legend that is Murray Walker would struggle to make todays racing sound exciting..........but we have Mr Interesting DC for that now!!

What next.........fitting specs average speed cameras to the circuits!!

closed cockpits will be next mate with ejector seats its a joke i don't want to see drivers hurt or killed but its got to safe and to health and safety which some how has overlooked the tt man thats real motorsport there mental

Mark Webber was accompanied by one of the Sky totti on his few days off, where he went to the Isle of Man and was saying the very same things - raw guts, brute force and to hell with safety ....

Cockpits are nearly enclosed now anyway - Brundle's often been mentioning how limited the visibility is.
Mirrors seem strangely more useful this year - little vibration cf previous years.

Engines? Yeah, would be nice to see the 1.5 turbos again, but I love multi-cylinder high revving engines - WHY NOT?
Surely if they can spend so many millions on aero, they could spend a few on preparing a decent engine - that Honda one I mentioned - 20k and nigh on 1k BHP - NICE!!

Le Mans' on this weekend, with Eurosport covering it already. Presentation is pretty naff cf BBC's F1 coverage (far better than Sky's I reckon despite the lack of totti present in the latter).
Seems like it won't be an Audi walk-over, as Toyota are returning in the prototypes.
Surely little can compete with the drama and action of Peugeot v Audi of last year? That was quite brilliant, even if Alan McNish won't probably be considering a Ferrari for his day job .... one sent him off line and into his huge accident last year I think!!
Al.

after this topic ive been on youtube looking at the turbo era and watching them change gear by hand and hearing them spin up with mega power and senna around monaco wow and even as dwarfy mentioned murry its not f1 without murry walker
