outerwear question for reed motor

I was looking to get my motor ready for my baja,when I picked up the outerwears I noticed the standard crank case outerwear doesn't fit on the bottom of my reed case, just wondering what are people doing to protect their motors from dirt and twigs.??

I run a obr reed & use the crank case outerwear. Its a tight fit, but it covers.

Were you able to use the Velcro? or did you have to glue it?
