:( hiya fellas/girls
Took my Beetle and MT out the other day and fried my battery so a new one went in and the following day took them out again.During general tomfoolery I had a head on with a work coleague and bent the side grill on the MT which jammed the steering servo horn. After a careful adjustment with a mallet:) everything was back on form and re-started my systematic destruction of the truck(joking).
I noticed the steering was pulling a little to the left and it progressively got worse so I brought it in and looked under the servo try and noticed the servo horn was spun right around,so I bought it home and took it to bits. The servo which is a Multiplex jumbo digi had been hit that hard it had dislodged all the gears inside it and getting it re-synced was a nightmare!:blush:Anywayater the initial shock it was like opening Pandora's box, there was a multitude of problems, stripped threads, snapped screws etc.So a few ally upgrades are on the cards.
And to finish, you probably all maintain your babies properly but if not make it a priority to,it will make sense in the end.
James.
P.S, haven't checked the Beetle yet

Did you head on with your Beetle?
Ya, doesn't matter how much the servo is when you smack it that hard.

Yeah,my mate was giving the Beetle some and I was throttling it down a straight with the MT and he crossed my path ! Pretty gruesome but I thought it would have been worse and anyway it's give me a chance to service them.

Ouch. Reminds me of the time I thought I had turned my son's RX throttle down and he came screaming over the yard and stopped it right into our 6" well head that sticks 1 1/2 ft out of the ground. Needed a new chassis on that one. At least we both laugh about that one now.:clown: $140.00 of parts later I learned kids depth perception takes awhile to mature, heck mine is just maturing. .

:lol:Whoa! bent the chassis.......now thats what I call a bang! Well i'm just in the throws of stripping the Beetle down but got distracted because the postman has just been and delivered a couple of parts for my Kawada Alcyon SV-10 and my crawler:) Gotta get back to it.....catch ya later

Bashing and breaking makes it interesting and allows an excuse for upgrading when I beg.:clown: Even better I was able to buy the part real quick to "help my son learn how to fix it" any way that was that excuse.:clown:

Have fun!:)

"Help my son":nono:......LOL....Love it! I wonder if my partner would swallow that?, "Erm, I'm just going into the workshop to show our 3 year old daughter how to remove a sheard shock mount screw,love"....Well ya gotta try!:clown:

Is there any other excuses out there that fellow RC'er's have came out with to go bash there cars/trucks? Love to hear.
J.

Well i sometimes go bashing with my friend while i actually have to do my homework.
So i say:I won't learn anything from that that is usable in my live when i have an job.And you already now mom that i wanna do something with cars.So you are a better parent if you let me break my fg with my friend because i will have something real to learn then.
The best part of it is:It actually works!!!!!!!!!:laugh:
