Part Sourcing: Redcat Rampage Fuel Tank Posts (#07124)

Greetings! This is my first original thread on this forum.

I am looking for some fuel tank posts for my Rampage XT under Redcat part number#07124. I have not been able to find this part number on Redcat’s website. The only 3rd party I have found which has stock (at the time of writing) is in Canada, and they will not ship to the US.

Does anyone on this forum have any available, or know where I can find them in the United States? Alternatively, is there a similar part for an MT that also fits on an XT? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

In my experience, Redcat CS is hit-or-miss. I asked them for another part unrelated to this thread, and if it was not on their website, they did not have it available. I’ll send them a request for this part just just to see what happens.

The Canadian vendor (Amazing RC) on the other hand, as of the time of writing, might just be able to help after all. I asked nicely and they are willing to quote me for an international order. I will reply with details as I receive them. Here is what I found for a potential work-around:

From what I could find online and measuring the tank height myself, this standoff could work too. I will post updates about this saga as well.

Hey buddy. I have an xb and a mt. I've found that most parts between the two are interchangeable. I When poop broke I'd normally put mt parts on. I'm pretty sure the mt tank posts do work.

I am back with updates. The metal posts from Harfington were not quite what I was looking for. I read the CAD drawing incorrectly because I assumed they would unscrew from both ends, but that was not the case. I would need to cut the tips off, drill pilot holes and blind tap them. I would like to avoid this route if possible.

Redcat themselves have unfortunately had neither the fuel tank post kits nor the individual pieces themselves on their website in quite some time. Thankfully, the support team at Redcat have been very nice to work with and are currently (as of the time of writing) looking into restocking this part domestically.

The Canadians on the other hand have been a great help! I asked nicely and Amazing RC has agreed to ship an international order. I should (hopefully) have it soon. Cheers!

Many hardware stores carry stuff that is easy to adapt.....best part of this hobby is making parts for me. Luckily l have a busy beaver near that has a ton of Dorman or other things that with very little work can be used.... invest in some good tools and challenge yourself, the rewards are always good!!!!!!

I 100% agree with improvising hardware to get the job done, so long as it is done safely. I just didn't want to take any chances with the fuel tank since I wanted the assembly to be as factory as it could be. I could make a bunch of other threads about the holes I had to tap & die and various screws I had to identify and source. Merely the act of rebuilding this truck has been quite the adventure for me and I look forward to more.

Speaking of adventures, the OEM posts have completed their adventure to my door! I had to pay $60 for a $10 bag of plastic parts after international shipping and tariffs, but I am very happy. Redcat also gave me a timeline of 3 months until they have this item back in stock domestically, so I have (hopefully) saved others from this parts sourcing heartache.

Case closed! Moral of the story; ask nicely, and you might just receive.
