Hi. Does the nice black gear cover from the XT fit the MT? Looks like it will. Also looking to ditch the gold chassis. Considered sending out for anodizing or possibly buy a different one. Saw a grey one on line out of stock. XT is nice black, but flat... :confused:
 
The grey chassis that you saw is from the maverick blackout MT. It's only distributed in Europe as far as I know so it would be pricey to ship to Canada or the US (not sure where you are located). The chassis would look awesome in black I think. Your best bet might be to have it anodized. I wish FLM had some interest in the Rampage and would make us a chassis, the aluminum parts that they make are wicked... I have a lot of their aluminum parts on my savage XL including the chassis plates.

I was thinking of that as a last resort, but think it wouldn't last long and start to look crappy :o
 
The XT diff gear cover will work... under parts search on Redcat's site for the XT I found this :

Thanks Jeff. That one is clear. Does that mean the XT is painted on the inside???

I'm not sure, I would think that it would come from the factory in black. The 50066 part number is probably the replacement for the Rampage MT/dune runner. Maybe the XT has a different part number? I couldn't find one though, maybe contact Rob @ Rampage hopups or Redcat and see.
 
I think I'm just going to paint it black. Turns out the chassis anodizing is becoming a hassle too so I will just paint that. I want to run it so need to get on the build LOL. ;)


Save the "project" type stuff for next winter.
 
There's always the option of taking it out to have it powdercoated as well. I've had two 5B's (one red, one olive drab) and a 5T chassis (neon pink) powdercoated and it holds up well. They scratch just like anodizing would, but don't flake off.

Ya, I considered that but was impatient to try it and see if I like it. The paint definitely won't hold up LOL. If I like it, I'll get it powder coated next winter. Just waiting on shock upgrades so I can actually finally run it for real! ;)
 
U can get good paint and it will hold up almost good as powder coat. Dupont Imron Air craft paint I have some yellow somewhere The stuff when u paint it on its there for life LOL
