If as i have been told it is best not to let petrol sit in the tank to long unused
What is the best way apart from simply tipping it out ,to get petrol out of tank and maybe all pipes as well
Also does anyone know where I can get braided fuel lines from

1. USE IT until it runs out :D:D:D
2. I've seen braided lines on Ebay.

Lee, I'm a lazy bugger and still relatively new, but some say the oil separates from the petrol in time, so simply give the rig a shake before use.
I'm not sure what harm residual fuel may have to the gasekts in the carb, etc.

After three months a petrol/oil mix will start to change(so I have been told) Although I have still ran a car with six month old mix in and it was exactly the same.
Google braided hose,theres loads there.

Yep...run it outta gas then pull the plug and give it a squirt of after-run oil (I use Marvel mystery oil) Finally, give the starter a tug or two to distribute the oil inside the engine if it is going to sit for awhile.

after-run oil is used to ensure that no water sits on the inside of a nitro motor when you store it. This is because nitro fuel is hydo-something which means it sucks moisture out of the air. When the moisture mixes with the nitro fuel it dispurses evenly, so that some of it lies in contact with the engine surfaces, long term this will corrode and kill a nitro motor. The after-run oil adheres to the metal surfaces of the motor more strongly than the fuel, so provides a protective film metween the moisture and the metal.

as petrol is mixed with 2 stroke oil we don't have this problem, since our fuel isn't hydro-whatsit, and the oil provides the protective film on all of the components anyway. However, if you are going to store it long term it may be a good idea, sure it wouldn't hurt.


hydrophloric? I know what I mean but damned if I can remember it or get the right word out of google.
 
Mixed fuel WILL degrade over time but I doubt anyone can tesll unless they put their engine on a dyno or something every week.

Leaving fuel in you tank won't cause a problem other than the fact it will discolour it. My tank is still white after a year or so because I've drained it after use.
