for some reason i cant get anyone to show any interest in buying this. it is pretty clear that it runs lol. afraid im going to have to take the oneil bros engine out and sell it with the stock (slug) engine for half what i was asking.
BTW i cant say enouogh about oneil bros. they are a GREAT company! they stand behind their stuff and as u can see it runs!. with the stock engine i need an 8000 clutch spring ( i had a 6000 in the vid with the race engine) and i cant spin the tires coming out of the turn. next time i have to move the inside pipe in turn three so i can arch into that turn like i can in turn one.
and yea its not a 1/5th scale track lol. not much room for error
Buggy does look fast and good skills around the track.. what gearing are you running I cant get adune runner to run anywhere near as quick or as fast as my baja. I do alot of circle track and with the 4wd I cand hold alot of speed thu the turns but the top end is so slow compaired to the bajas. i can care less about take off
im doing 9.4 second laps. the edm modifieds (1/10 scale mod buggys) and customworks sprint cars are doing 10.5 second laps.
its the engine. 7.5 HP will wake up anything. its the oneil bros 27.2 engine. lots of mid and top end. with a jet pro top end pipe.(prototype)
just had last race of the season yesterday. what a blast ! i went wide on the back straight and nailed a metal upright that holds the (missing) catch fence and broke a ft arm and tie rod. i was in the lead by 4 laps with 1 minute to go.lol.
also have baja 5T tires on it for a little more top end. The dunerunner tires are such low profile they scrub off the sidewall in a few minutes .
IDK whats gears are in it. they are metal. ill check when i tear it down.
thank I appreciate the info a buddy of mine has one and we run a circle track about a 420 ft drive line and he just cant keep up with my baja. he handles turns nicley due to the 4wd, i occasionaly will spin out but he is just to slow. I have told him he needs a real motor with some hp. he outwieghs me by 5-6 ilb and has all that drag of 4wd
with the stock motor it couldn't even spin the tires and start a slide. with stock motor and jetpro pipe and 7000 clutch spring it was much better but still would bog and not come off the turn and would hit max rpm half way down the straight. that 27.2 is amazing.
just have to check the ft cvd's often and use red loctite on the grub screws. dif cup under the motor wears out fast.other than that it actually is a fun car to drive. i can hold it in a slide forever.
i have the losi 5ive on preorder. im going to put the 27.2 in it . IF i decide i need a larger engine for the losi u think your friend would buy the 27.2 and the pipe?
he might be interested. he is cought up on the 30.5 which are great but i like the 27.2 they seem to wrap up highr and don't blow the tires off as bad when you hammer it, it more of a track mnotor imo.
