I have now completed my two tank break in and have made the low side adjustment to the carb. The high side seems to be pretty good as it opens up good and I am seeing smoke from the muffler. I have a DDM pipe on the way and was wondering if there is any special tuning tips for the pipe. Do the stock muffler carb settings normally require richening or leaning after going with a tuned pipe. I can figure it out once I get the pipe but was wondering if anyone had tips before I start twisting on the screws. Boyd

When I switched from a stock can to a Jet-Pro I had to richen both needles approx 1/8 turn. Start rich then lean, in Very small increments. Like 1/16 turn max. Since you are used to the crappy stock can, that pipe will be like a whole new truck! It will be tuned when it has great throttle response and will snap from idle to full speed without any bogs or stumbles. Keep the plug color as close to brown as possible, no white or gray!

Did you get a wheelie bar yet? You'll need one!

Trip..

I will keep an eye on the plug to see if I am running rich enough. No wheelie bar yet and I hope I need one. The transition from ide to full throttle now is really good. The stocker has surprised me with its performance already. From the videos I have seen with the pipe added, I am anxious to get behind the trigger. I am power hungry as I ride a 400 plus horsepower bike and like to have excess power in any of my toys. It is better to have too much power than not enough! Boyd

Thanks Bigger the Better, for the link on tuning. I will copy and use as guidline. Boyd
