i,ve been building a new motor as a spare so decided to do some porting work on the head and crankcase, i managed to get my hands on a blown 23cc head tuned by a guy who is well known for his porting, so that was a good base to work off, i,ve allso been reading up on boost ports cut or drilled into the piston but do they work and do i risk cutting or drilling my new piston,

Here is a picture of a jfc piston.
It is increased your high rpm's a lot.

What size engine are you building?

Sadll it's all trial and error, you may get it right first time but you may have to try 1,2,3 or 15 times to get the machining right and go through how ever many pistons and cylinders.
