i use super unleaded and king cobra fully synthetic race oil, you can get it mail order from rossendale models for £8ish mate, good stuff i've been usin it for a while with great results :cool2:

i found some on the bay it says to mix it 33:1? you still do 25:1 though right?

There is a lot of different views on what mixture fuel/oil to use but refer to your manual for what the manufactures recomend but for a basher 25-33:1 is about right.....anything less and your cutting the life of your motor

If the plug doesn't do it, you may have a problem with fuel flow. Check the gas lines for cracks. Bogging on acceleration is normally caused by lack of fuel. Is this a new or used engine/carb setup?

Did you set the 1-1/2 and 1-1/4 turn on the right H/L needle? High should be 1-1/2 and Low should be 1-1/4. Reversing this will make a big difference for the worst.

hi there! yes the car in brand new this is the second tank of fuel. it ran ok for one tank but with the needle settings on H 4 turns and L 3.5 turns..... thats how it came and i now know thats well high!!!

it is now H 1 -1/2 and L 1-1/4. i have checked these are the right way round now and they are!

what are your thoughts?

also i would have thought that if its bogging still when i accelerate, the L needle would need adjusting as that does the low end fuelling? ive been told to adjust the H though so thats what im doing!

hi there i find if you can get it to go with the right settings 1.5 on high and 1.25 on low i will bin the plug and normally that does the trick its one of these things that although there is a spark it may not be strong enough especially if the cars been lying

also on the oil question i wouldnt use the kcr oil i did and had nothing but probs the oil everyone is using is klotz or castrol 747 these seem to be the best and better for your engine i use klotz super techniplate and haven't had any problems but majority prefere 747 especially if its a tuned engine

I probably should have been more clear. I was thinking by "bogging" you meant when you hit the throttle it would just bog down and die. This is a sign that fuel is not reaching the engine and maybe the carborator.

If you mean that when you hit the throttle, you see a bog between the low and high speed engine rpm, then yes, you make adjustments to your Low needle to smooth out the transition. The High is adjusted to obtain maximum RPM only.

If you ran a tank at the very rich settings you describe, yes, the plug is probably toast.

If interested, I use the Klotz R50 from a local motorcycle shop. On the 1st teardown of the 30.5cc motor, there was no carbon buildup. The only carbon was in a wet solution around the ring that wiped right off.

well i got a new plug today and in she went, set the needles to 1.5 and 1.25 turns fired her up, and guess what????????

off it went, just the way it should do! i then gave the L a little more to around 1.5 and the plug is now a light ish brown, not too light but not too dark!!!

i think its all good! starts on the button every time and only smokes when its cold for a few mins.

thanks you for all your help on this!
