I have a 5b.. Recently had a 32 cc ported and a reed kit done.to it My problem now is my two speed one way bearing keeps destroying. When I say destroying , I mean the plastic casing keeps coming away because of too much horse power and bearing won't handle the heat. I know probably easiest solution would be to put original transmission back in but surely there is something people have succeeded for this problem without going back to single speed. Any ideas please

Thanks for your reply but behind the alloy casing is the centrifugal clutch that makes it all work. On the first and second cogs in that picture would be a one way bearing on each cog and as the desired speed is reached the clutch engages and I am assuming it must be a three stage clutch. The one way bearing is designed to spin freely when each new gear is selected, matching the speed of the new faster gear. The one way bearings can not be seen unless fully dismantled

There is two possible solutions. The first is to place thin washers either side of the bearing, covering the plastic casing. Maybe that might work if it is a very snug fit and all fits back together. Another idea a mate came up with is buying metal putty. It is soft when first applied and dries as hard as metal with very high temp resistance. I was told to try and stick it to edge of plastic casing and the actual metal of the bearing , obviously getting none on the ball bearings. It us meant to stick to plastic as well as metal. Sounds a bit crazy, but hey what have I got to lose... lol

I would try washers before messing with puddy. Or maybe try the baja forums. I've seen tons of vidz with guys running BIG motors so I assume there should be a solution for you out there somewhere. Good luck and post back when you find a fix. I plan on picking up one of RoofChoppers sand drags and it runs a baja rear end so I may be in need of the fix as well.

Get a steel case one way bearing.
