I always wanted to do a whole chrome body. I'm a sucker for the shiny things. LOLgrafildave said:Top Job mate!!!The painting chrome is very awesome!!!
Wow rcdad that marble job came out greatRCDAD said:I guess I'll try to give you guys some inspiration to get those bodies painted. I also wanted to show the shredder owners that the Grafil body can be trimmed to fit the shredders also.
This only took about 2 hours. I slapped some liquid mask on it last night before I went to bed. I only needed the mask for the windshield. I did the marble trick using metallic orange then silver and backed with white. A couple light coats of black to tint the window. Graphics are just decals. Simple and quick but looks

Yep id want one for sure if I ran the TC cage. All right Ol'fart take note!Deluge said:
No duct tape. You won't get adhesion to the top of it. You want to use drywall mesh tape. Then either the spray on or roll on bedliner will work. Then another coat of tape then another coat of liner. You can use shoe goo instead of bed liner. Both add extra support. In the wing support area of the Ralley I'm going to try spray foam to fill the wing support cavity. I'm going to paint some 2ltr soda bottles just to try the foam on. There are some strong solvents in the foam. I don't want it to eat my paint job.DUFFY said:Rcdad, are you using bed liner out of a spray can? I heard duct tap then screen and tons of JBweld packages, make for a body you can sit on. Sounds heavy, but that process would be pretty strong. My brothers kid was straight gangster stomping my body when it was in two pieces still. The body was fine so the only way I see it breaking is landing on the lid or a tear from roll overs. Landing on the lid is my concern.
Thanks.rampage idiot said:Wow rcdad that marble job came out great
Yes, remember the body needs to have some flex to be able to absorbe impact. Just keep in mind all bodies break.Deluge said:JB Weld would be good in the weak areas of the body. Would be heavy, though.
Thanks! I totally forgot!RCDAD said:Yes, remember the body needs to have some flex to be able to absorbe impact. Just keep in mind all bodies break.
