basic first run check list

-hardware. check all hardware. apply blue loc-tite to any metal-to-metal hardware. that includes, set screws gear plate/clutch mount, motor mounts and chassis supports. re-tighten all hardware that goes into plastic

-reciever pack. fully charge reciever pack. its sugjested to use a quality peak charger and run the cells thru a full charge/discharge cycle.

-air filter. apply quality air filter oil to the inside filter elimate.. for best resoults replace with an hpi filter set-up

-radio gear. its always best to replace any RTR radio gear with quality electronics and a 3rd channel kill switch. the supplied throttle servo should not be used. always double check throttle/brake/stearing linkages as well as E.P.A. settings.

-center the drive shafts. this will prevent the drive shafts from coming out during full suspension travel. if this happens you run the risk of damaging drive cups and losing drive shafts. the best way to do this is by using conical drive shaft springs. you can also use heavy duty O-rings or heavy duty fuel tubing

-wheel nuts/axle pins. grind a flat spot onto the axle pin that holds the drive hub on as well as applying blue loc-tite on the set screw(inside axle). for the wheel nuts you can apply blue loc-tite or dremel slashes on the backside of the wheel nut. or better yet, use hpi/dark soul wheel nuts as they have a knurled side

-plastic drive gears. to prevent them from melting its sugjested to vent the gear cover. you can do this by drilling multible pilate holes on the top of the gear cover or cut the side of the cover and apply mesh to keep stones out. metal upgrade gears will be available soon thru rampagehopups.com

EDIT: STEEL GEARS ARE NOW AVAILABLE.. http://www.rampagehopups.com/category.sc?categoryId=5

-stock mt/tt shell. the stock shells are brittle under the heavy weight of our 4wd's. coating the inside of the shell with something like shoe-goo or liquid weld modeling glue will help preserve the shell. lower the mt shell so its supported on the roll cage will great effect its longevity.

V1 RAMAPAGE

-upgrade kit. install all of the upgrade kit. including diffs, gear plate and vented clutch bell. this kit was put together to insure a quality first run. the upgrade kit is pre-installed on all V2 rampage's and on-road/rally cars.

this is just the basics for a first run. this forum is FILLED with usefull information and most information can be located by simply using the "search" key.

please feel free to link helpfull threads in your post.

#1 rule. don't chase your rig in the snow while holding radio and cam.

#2 rule. don't jump your tt off a 30' cliff and expect it to drive away the SECOND time..

#3 rule. if you still have 3 wheels left, you can keep driving.
