I Have the opportunity to purchase a very inexpensive used Imex buggy that is in great shape, my question is has anyone here had one and have an opinion on them, they look very similar to an FG, but just want some insider info on it before I make the purchase. Thanks for the help

A buddy if mine, that now owns a Baja, originally purchased the IMEX Stadium Truck for his first 1/5 scale. I would say it's similar to the quality of the rest of the chinese imports. Nothing spectacular. He had a few things break unexpectedly and repetativly, however, even that occurs on the Rampage. The difference is though we have alot of options available to us to get our stuff running without problems (Baja shocks, Ramtech susp braces and gears, aluminum pieces, etc. I haven't checked on the Imex stuff for a long time but I don't think there are many option part available for it still.

BTW, another buddy of mine had an Imex backordered order for 3 months. He canceled the order because he figured getting parts was going to be a PITA.

here is mine. looker2756 did the paint (my girls picked the colors!). the thing with these trucks is that they need to be re assembled with extra care given to gear mesh everywhere. but if you get them together right they offer mcd like performance at a fraction of the cost.

Save your money buy an hpi baja 5b/5t or a Rampage they have more upgrades avalible. Not to mention they are more durable

i have had both the rampage and the 2 different fs vehicles, and i currently own a 5b ss too. the fs is a very solid car after it is assembled correctly. and as for hop ups most mcd parts are a direct fit. imex has released alloy upgrades, i am getting a set of arms along with their new daul servo set. you can get all the gears in steel too. ive heard that they can be had in the 650.00 range too. so what faults this truck may have the fixes are as easy as mcd!

my truck is listed on ebay right now. unforunate sircomstances forces sell. the fg wheels and tires, spare diff and radio are worth more than the opening bid!
