Problem with FG MB/MT (need a lil help!)

hi guys :)

ok i totally stripped my MB Pro down as it needed a good clean & ive fitted a few new parts.

The problem is, when im fixing the front end to the Radio tray using the bracket (see pic below) is when i fasten the bolts tight that fasten onto the servo saver (theres the one bolt at top which is in pic outlined) & theres one that fastens from the underside of the chassis my steering becomes very stiff?

I don't know if this is normal as ive never actually checked before how stiff it was?

When i loosen the bolts, then the steering (when i turn the wheels left & right by hand) is free & theres no stiffness, it feels nice & smooth. But as soon i tighten the bolts then it becomes very stiff :(

Im pretty sure ive put it together correct... theres only the 1 washer that goes on the top bolt?

The pic above aint of my MB Pro as my digi cam aint workin! but its exactly same setup.

Ive looked at the exploded diagrams to check to see if ive put it back together correct, to what i can tell i have, but it just don't seem right that when i tighten these bolts up, the steering becomes very stiff?

any ideas guys :) ?

servo save post looks fine dude from outside... ive not taken the c-lip off yet & pulled it all apart cuz the spring looks like a biatch to get back onif i do!?

how many washers should there be? all i see is 2... 1 for the top & a big one that sits just below spring at the bottom?

don't suppose you got a pic handy of how it looks when together? lol

Thet do look good from the outside but its when you take the post out,the large nut on the bottom shears,you cant tell from the outside.
I'll put some pics up later.

so is it meant to be smooth & not stiff at all dude? i jus connected it all to my servo & tested it, it turns fine like it did before, only reason why ive noticed it now cuz its 1st time ive had my MB fully stripped down so didnt notice how stiff it was before (if at all) :s

hiya mate :)

well, this is weird, when i 1st fittied it, it seemd really stiff... so took it apart, inspected it & it asll looked fine, so re-fitted it & now it seems much better :o wired it up to servo & its working with no probs :)

so seems ok at the mo, touch wood!

ive always kept it clean (honest!) i blame my mate (ya gutta blame someone!), reason why its in this mess was i let me mate have ago at delamere when on my last outing, theres a row of jumps so i said to him "DO NOT go over the last jump as theres a big fkin puddle behind it full of thick mud n water.... 5 sec later...i watched my MB dissapear over the jump followed a big fkin splash... i wasnt impressed!

The setup is made to be loose.
The spot that snaps on the shaft is the actual shaft where the threads start on the bottom. It a weak spot that will snap and you will not notice it until tear down.
Don't worry the spring will not come apart if you don't want it too. It will stay put together and slip right off.
You will want to keep an eye on the spring as well. It will bend and mess up the strength of the saver - Make it weaker.

You can see the spot on top of the shaft that cracks in this photo. It cracks right where the flare is.
You can see how the spring weakens and is not tight and touching the plastic. It needs to be re bent tight.
