fat what did you do to the aluminum parts to get them so shiny?? just wondering i would like to do the same!?
I used s.o.s pads with the pink soap, and triple fine steel wool that you can get at home depot in the paint section.I stripped the ano with drano crystals in a bucket took about ten minutes to strip.

Progress has been slowed due to work, but i am not complaining. Hope to have some extra money next week so i can order my servos. I got some Bad Horsie shock socks. and installed them. I need to find a little time to finish the cage. But any progress is progress, lol

No i have run it with the sway bars, and this isnt an option kit it is for a 5t i modded the kit to fit. It works real good took alot of the bodyroll out of it,it would work better with smaller tires or bigger bars.

hey fat what happened to the lights idea? and when are you going to get some dirt on that monster. would like to watch it run.
Hey scare ,work happened, lol. I am still going to put lights on it but we went from sitting on our thumbs to balls out wide open, gotta take it when you get it these days. I have been waiting for some extra money [if there is such a thing] to get new servos and radio.

Back to building again. I started a new cage a while ago and progress came to a screeching halt.

But im going to make time. The new cage will be 5/16 chrome moly tubing. I will post pics soon.

I'm lookin forward to seeing your new one! :) have fun!

I still would like to build a cool under body cage for the XB. I'm waiting for the Grafil bodies to come out, then I can start a design for that body.

Very nice cage there FAT! Extremely beautiful and straight as heck. I also love building custom cages and other items for the rampages. Many I haven't posted pics yet. However I do see one flaw on your cage. Its the same flaw I did building my first cage. That would be where its bolted to. The front and rear bulkheads is a real weak spot for a cage. The main problem I ran into was cracking the front and rear diff because the weight of the truck. Even though the bulkheads are aluminum the diffs are still plastic and where the bulkhead bolts to the diff is very close grouping of screws that makes it a weak spot.

Where i bolted mine is where the stock one bolts onto. All the punishment drives the cage downward onto the chassis and i found to be the best spot. So far I haven't damaged one thing sense I put it there. I bought 2 MT's and the one I am bashing alot to see where all the weak spots are so I can improve on and a aftermarket cage is one of the best upgrades for a basher. But at the same time the ones I built isn't as fancy as yours. The time and work you have put into yours would make anyone not even want to run it because its so nice. I envy the work and looks of your truck :)

I can't wait either lol. And thanks ruffy but where its mounted works perfectly. I have zero chassis flex and my diffs have threaded steel inserts and have never cracked. These pics are of my old cage. Im currently building another alot more involved than this one.

And RCdad im gonna say it again its damn good to see you back. I will get some work done this weekend and try to post some pics. I have to build from the main hoop forward until I get a new rear exit pipe.
