£42.59! Customs!

So in total im gona pay over £150 for a fooking chassis!
When i should just of got a alloy one!

Its getting sold as soon as i get it!

Just for a laugh, how much is the 'Handling' charge?
That's the bit that always annoys me.
If it wasn't stopped, the Post Office would be the ones delivering it 'FREE', but as they stopped it to slap an extra VAT (Value Added Tax) charge, they also slap an extra 'Handling' charge, just for the crack!!

I know what you're going through!!
Remind yourself why you bought it - YOU WANTED IT - don't sell it on right away, you'll lose money mate.

£21.30 for handling charges and the rest was VAT :(

But you no what i will keep it, i was just pissed about the
charges.

I do know where you're coming from Andy.
Glad you're going to keep it, and I'm sure your original selection was correct - get photos up when it's done.

Is it lighter than the original as well as being tougher?

I bought something for 25 US got stopped at customs to pay duty...even on such a small item. the handling charge came to more than the part was worth and a delay of 4 weeks. Other times I got awwy scott fre on hundreds of pounds worth of imports.

Hi Justin.
If it got stopped, then that's with $25/£18 = Exchange rate of 1.39.
This is highly unusual.
It hasn't been below 1.51 since before 14/10/2011.

If this is recent and you still have paperwork, you must get a refund as it's incorrect.

nah mate it was some time ago and not a real issue it was just amazing the handling extortion charge was more than the part was worth, Im sure I could have ordered another one and been lucky not to be stopped and still ended up cheaper...it may not have been 25 maybe more or less cant remember exact. but we can be held hostage by officious pencil pushing beuracrats.

I know where you're coming from, but the 'odds' of some marginal ones getting through are very slight these days.
Values should always be declared correct, and limits are as stated - £18 for registered supplier/merchant and £36 for private individual.
Over the years I've found it very limiting, and mainly the 'handling charge' when hopping-up my Losi and Traxxas products.
This is where FG are generally well up on the others for us in UK - within the EU (at least for now!! .... but long may it continue, or our hobby will get even more expensive!!)

Here in Australia we don't pay any fee's unless the total value is over $1000 then we get charged 10% of the total cost (goods and service tax) and a handling charge of $40 so if i keep cost at $1000 all services are free....Hope you get your items soon Andy so you can finally start your build
