Well, once again I was watching Youtube vids and think I have an idea to get myself in hot water. Here in Illinois the weather is pretty bad in the winter so I spend that time working on projects that I would like to do with whatever RC truck I currently own.
After watching the OBR vids and going to the dreaded OBR website, I decided I want to try my hand at building an engine. OBR offers a good CNC ported, full mod Zenoah long block at a decent price. This will allow me to do whatever I want.
Then I made my second mistake of going to the dreaded DDM website where I found a lightened flywheel, TR billet pullstart, and tuned pipe. I want everything on this motor to be a upgrade. OBR says that this motor is capable of 7.5 hp.
What other upgrades would you guys recommend to make this motor a monster (as compared to the stock motor)?
This is my list so far:
• CNC ported, full mod Zenoah 30.5cc
• Blur v2 quick release air filter system
• Vertigo vented steel clutch bell
• Turtle Racing gear plate
• Overkill Concepts billet ignition spacer
• DDM Dominator v2 silenced (in black)
• Turtle Racing v2 billet pullstart assembly (gun metal)
There is no real rhyme or reason for this build or the parts chosen, it’s just something I think I want to do. If I have chosen wrong parts, or there are better parts, chime in and help an over-zealous newb out!!
