Hii was changing my pull start cover to aluminum thought it would be simple enough but after putting it back together when I pull it it the string does not wind back up what did I do wrong I know I didnt do something right just not sure what anyone have an idea what I did wrong?
 
i got both if my cats on stand's both of the pullstarters didn't last enough to tune in the new carbs now am on the search for a solution i went trough a few of them pullstarts
 
pull start issue

The solution is to use them correctly. They won't last forever, but new guys tear them up by abuse.

To start the truck: slowly pull until the pawl engages, then pull hard.
