I just got my XB, added fuel mix (25:1) and started it. After a few minutes it stopped. I started it again and again after a few minutes it stopped. Then it never started again. After a while, although I wasnt pulling on it hard, the pull start stopped pulling and did not coil back in. So the pull start is now broken plus the car will not start. I removed the plug and turned it over and NO fuel ran out. Can someone help please?

If it's a brand new XB and you are just trying to break it in then it could be that you are running rich on the low speed needle. Your pull start not coiling back may be damage from you pulling it so many time and you may have snap something in the pull start.

1. Make sure you are not running too rich on the low speed

2. If you're comfortable, take apart your pull start from your engine and see if everything is ok

3. It may be air leak too, check to make sure all gasket are intact and all screw on the engine are secure.

It sounds like your fuel cap isn't vented.
It may be that too, just don't tighten the gas cap so tight. Since it's a pretty new XB, it shouldn't be a problem yet. Just make sure its not too tight too.

Adjust the needles. Some people can't get their engines to run on the factory settings.

High speed needle - 1 1/4 turns out

Low speed needle - 1 1/2 turns out

Also, spray the plug with some carb cleaner. In case it's just too gunked up to run.

Take the pull start off and see what the damage is. When I start my MT, I pull the cord lightly until the pawl engages the flywheel and then I give it a quick tug. If you just tug it without engaging it first, you're basically slamming plastic against aluminum.

OK. I fixed the pull start now I need to start the engine. I am new to speed needles. What does 1 1/4 turns out mean?

Gently turn the needles clockwise until they stop. Then, back them out to spec. 1 1/4 turns out means one full turn and one quarter of a turn, counter-clockwise. Basically, you're backing the needles out a specific number of turns.
