Broke the pull start today tried to take out the screw onthe pawl no luck yet on that any suggestions and not a must for bling but better than stock. thanks.

You don't have to take the old one apart if you get a new one.

The screw in the pawl can be a real pain to remove, especially if it been locktighted

watch this how to on rebuilding

I have them for $17.52 if you want a complete new one.

If yours is still ok, I'd recommend the steel pullstart cable. From Killer RC.

The only better option IMO is the V2 Turtle Racing pullstarter. Spendy but very nice!

I thank you guys for the info on this, it'll be a while till I get back to it. Have a front end to rebuild on a buddy's impala tomorrow. If I can't rebuild the pawl I'll get on from you rcdad.

Well after working on my buddies car yesterday we fixed the pull start spring. It's good enough for now but still need a new one. Parts are officialy on hold for now being I have to replace the trans in my tahoe effen fun  Thanks again for everything fellas.

Thats what I did to mine and ended up breaking it. If you have to, use a mini torch usually butane fuel in it to warm up the loctite.

IMO pullstarters are just not fun to work on. LOL

They always seem to break at the beginning of an outing. I keep a couple of spares in my tool bag.

To me they are a disposable product unless you invest in the TR unit.
