Pullcord slack

I pulled the start cord today and when it recoiled it left out about 2" of slack. Any thoughts on how to get it so the handle isn't hanging out?

Pull the cord out of the handle cut off the slack tie another not and burn the end.

Take pull start off you will see a little notch cut out in the drum.pull out cord till the slack is gone put rope in notch turn till slack is gone take out of notch. Theres a vid of installing new cord it shows u what that notch does.i never knew that .after seeing the vid it all makes sense and way easy.i used it to take slack out i wrapped mine to tight.but works either way.once u do it its easy...hope that helps.my explanation sux so google rc pullstart vid...
