I finally had my truck put all back together(still haven't run it yet which is disappointing) and I went to start it and there was a lot of resistance on the pull start and after 3-4 pulls it broke. Not the cord but it doesn't rewind. My question is it normal for there to be that much resistance on the pull start? I also didn't hear the engine begin to fire up.

Have you rebuilt the engine, if so check the coil gap and screws are tight...if thats ok then i'd say theres something wrong inside of the engine as you should be able to turn the flywheel 360

If it's as simple as the coil is loose, try turning it around.
There are built-in magnets on the flywheel that should be 'a piece of card's width' from the coil.
Further away and it won't have a good spark, closer and you risk ... what MIGHT be your problem and it catches on the coil.
You should be able to turn the engine over with your hand, allowing for the compression, without obstruction.

There shouldn't be any broken fins on the flywheel, the coil shouldn't be touching the flywheel and check for any debris that might be stuck between the fins and stopping it from turning..

I would remove the Pull start until you can turn the flywheel and
take the spark plug out too..

So I pulled the case off and instantly saw what you guys were talking about, the coil was sitting on the flywheel! I loosed everything up and looked all around inside and saw no debris and the flywheel has not be damaged, i put a business card in between the coil and flywheel and tightened it all back up and now the flywheel spins with the twist of my hand. Thanks for the great advice guys!! I cant start it yet because my ps is broke, so I am about to order a new one and get this thing running asap!

also get a ps with the collaar built onto the pd wheel it keeps the pawl from cocking over and ruinin the ps. i replaced mine with a ps with collar and no probs since

It started!!!! :w00t: I am going to run it easy on the first tank and on the second start to tune it!!! hopefully saturday I can get it dialed in and running like a champ!
