Hi mate.....cy's are compatable with each other in any cc...eg 23 26 29.and also zenoah engines of any cc.....but unfortunatly not with the fg 'solo' engines....hope this helps
 
I think its the CY that has a plastic pawl that seems to fail quite alot. Get a metal upgrade before you fit it to be on the safe side :cool2:

reason im asking this is that my pullstarter look like its about to go soon and local FG dealer wants $70 for the Zenoah pullstart while the HPI CY pullstart is only $35 just wanna save some money here
 
i wish we have davesmotors next door but unfortunately not the case our local FG dealer is not up to pricing standard unless you purchase huge you get good discount but small parts prepare to pay huge markup on the prices
 
rixxer, it is a bit more but once you factor in shipping and exchange (your price I imagine is canadian) you aren't far out on the cy. you can just take your metal pawl off and put on the cy pull start.

I bought 2 servos off ebay. 140 cdn shipped... I got 2 today at the lhs $89 each plus taxes. it's the way it goes sometimes... I bought a plastic spur carrier locally to go play and advance shipped me an aluminum one for a few dollars more haha

The spring is made of high tensile steel,the end of yours has broken off! Heat the end up and bend it to the shape of the insert then cool it down instantly in cold water.

thank you for DYI repair link BTB and the rest of you guys for helping me out. ill take my pullstart apart this weekend hopefully its an easy fix
