Hi,

It's been a little over year since I haven't touched my Truck! To make it worst, I forgot for some reason to take out both the transmitter and receiver batteries so it was left like that for like 14 months. Now, I am wondering if both batteries are still good or I will need to buy new ones?

I'm not a battery specialist so I have no clue if they just lose their charge or they Die?

Thanks in advance,

Yannik

About the condition, they are both brand new batteries from last year so I'm not sure if they're discharged or dead! What do you think? I hope that I don't have to buy another one! :/

@Rob: I already have a kill switch installed on my truck! Do you think I can still try to charge both batteries to see if they will hold their charge?? Something tells me that they're still working as I bought these last year so I think they're just discharge but I needed a second opinion!!! :D

Hey Rob!

Here's my response to your questions:

What kind of charger do you have? It is a "Duratrax Onyx 245"

Can you cycle the batteries a few times? I never tried so I'm not sure!

If the batteries were stored correctly, they just might work. I bought these batteries Brand New last year and they were fully charged when I left one in the receiver and the other one in the transmitter for a whole year and 2 months!

Can you please explain what you mean by cycling the battery? I'm quite sure my charger does that but I never knew what it meant!! Thanks. :D

By cycling he probably means fully charging and fully discharging the battery. Some chargers can do that.

Thanks a lot guys! If someone knows that he won't use a battery for quite a while, what is the proper measure in order to preserve it? I have two types of batteries! :)
