Question about the diff. cover??

I've seen lots of redcat rampage mt with holes on their diff. cover so I'm wondering if it's recommended?? Also, for the people who painted there diff. cover black, you probably painted the cover inside instead of outside??

Well first off drilling holes in the gear cover can get dirt in it definitely keeps the bearings and gears cooler temp so that helps!!! And yes you paint gear cover from inside. I died mine blue and worked amazing.!!! Best if luck

Older versions of the MT / TT used plastic gears...these didn't stand up so well to heat etc, so many of us drilled holes for cooling...Not need quite as much with the metal gears.

I'm still using plastic gears. Lol.
